Source Species Brachypelma  albiceps (Mexican golden redrump tarantula)
Toxin Group Theraphotoxin
Description Toxin from the theraphosid spider Brachypelma albiceps with presumed insecticidal activity based on high sequence homology with ω-theraphotoxin-Ba1a from the same species. Recombinant baculoviruses that express ω-theraphotoxin-Ba1c induce faster cell death in insect cell lines.
