Toxin Group Lycotoxin
Description Venom allergen, similar to that found in hymenopterans. Belongs to the CAP protein family that includes CRISP proteins, antigen 5, and pathogenesis-related (PR-1) proteins. Has been convergently recruited into the venom of a variety of animals, including cepahalopods, cone snails, scorpions, reptiles and ticks, as well as the saliva of hematophagous insects.
